After the great start of our youngest dancers with three (!) Golden & National Championship titles on Thursday at the ASDU Austrian Open 2022 in Wiener Neustadt, the qualifying rounds continued successfully on Friday and Saturday. All of our group dances qualified for the final round, as did most of our solos.

The two-round format was, after several years of ASDU hiatus, a new experience for many of our dancers. Not everyone kept their nerves and were able to pull off the same great qualifying performance for the final round. Nevertheless, we are pleased about the overall very good performance of our Junior Academy.

Our competition team won 8 national championship and 13 vice-national championship titles, as well as 12 bronze medals.

Congratulations to our dancers and choreographers for their great preparation and the great performances at the Austrian Dance Cup 2022 in Bad Ischl on Palm Sunday weekend. Around a third of our dances ended up on the podium and even more qualified for the World Dance Cup in San Sebastian, Spain.

“IS IT JUST ME?”, Lyrical Alina Preiml & Adrian Infeld

We would particularly like to highlight the lyrical duet “IS IT JUST ME?” by Alina Preiml and Adrian Infeld (Choreography: Stuart Gannon), who danced their way onto the podium with an excellent 86 points.

We thank our parents and teachers for the support backstage with make-up, hair and costume changes. Without you we would not have been able to bring the 45 performances of our 46 dancers so well on the stage.

After a short Easter break, training continues again. Our next competition is the ASDU Austrian Open 2022 in Wiener Neustadt on the weekend of May 1st.

Don’t Dream It.
Be It.

Special Award Outstanding Dancer Juniors for Jule Joana Höller at Austrian Dance Cup 2021 in Bad Ischl

Jule Joana Höller “Outstanding Dancer Juniors”, ADC 2021

We really want to say that each year our entire KBC family is looking forward to every single competition and dance opportunity. The pandemic has shown us, how precious these moments on stage are and how much we have to appreciate them. It was a blessing for us to be able to travel, dance all together in the studio, instead of squeezing ourselves into a small space via Zoom and of course to be able to perform in front of an audience!

We participated at the DanceStar Qualifyer in Zell am See and at the Austrian Dance Cup in Bad Ischl. We congratulate all our dancers to their successes. Especially Jule Joana Höller and Luisa Solowjowa who both won the special award “Outstanding Dancer” in their respective age categories. Here below the results:

High Points and Top Results in Schwechat!

KBC Competition Team

KBC Competition Team 2020, Austrian Qualifier Schwechat

The hard work paid off for our Contest Groups and our Choreographers! It was the first competition for many dancers, choreographers and parents. It is all the more gratifying how wonderfully the cooperation worked, the joy of everyone involved in front of, on or behind the stage, the mutual cheering and the many helpful hands.

The great team atmosphere was rewarded with a great result: 14x gold, 10x silver and 5x bronze! Over three quarters of our dances landed on the podium, many of them in highly competitive categories. Almost all of our dances have qualified for the World Championships in Poreč (Croatia), and a quarter of them even in the demanding A-League.

Thanks again to the dancers, the choreographers and the parents for the great performance and support during the competition weekend from February 28th to March 1st, 2020 in Schwechat.

Don’t Dream It.
Be It.

Successful World Championships with many Surprises

DanceStar World Finals 2019

Kristina’s Broadway Connection Competition Team, DanceStar World Finals 2019, Poreč (Croatia)

This year’s DanceStar World Finals 2019 in Poreč, the world championships of the ESDU, had several surprises for us. It started with the organisers telling us that the KBC dance family could not have their regular hotel and that we had to find a new one.

Two weeks ahead of the World Finals we got the next surprise with an advanced start time and many of our numbers in it. We had to quickly organise an earlier bus, to book an extra night for 85 people and many extented absentee/holiday requests.

Had the weather forecast been rather pessimistic ahead of our arrival, Poreč surprised is with mostly sunny weather which also gave us some nice pool time.

The good result of our Competition Team with 8 Gold, 14 Silver and 6 Bronce medals was not really a surprise, as this was the result of the intensive preparation during the last weeks. We were especially happy for Lara Opavsky and Kaveri-Ann Binder who managed to re-qualify in Poreč and got rewarded with a Bronce and a Silver medal respectively thanks to their high marks. Lara and the fourth placed Valerie Birkner showed a strong performance in the Lyrical Solo Children category with 29 dancers. Also the Open Solo Children category with 20 dancers was highly competitive and therefore the Silver medal of Valerie Birkner and the fifth place of Luna Schößler are quite impressive. Anna Trabelsi also showed a very strong performance with Silver in the 29 dancers large Lyrical Solo Seniors category.

The overall high points of the world championship judges are testament for the good work of our dancers and choreographers, as well as the focus of our teachers on technique and basics.

Special thanks goes also to all the parents that always support us so strongly at the competitions with make-up, hairs or the transport of the required props. We also would like to thank for the many photos, most can be found in our online photo album at www.broadwayconnection.at/medien.

Don’t Dream It.
Be It.
